The Somerville Green Team is dedicated to helping our school and world prepare for a greener tomorrow!
MISSION
The Green Team’s mission is twofold: we aim to reduce, reuse, and recycle, while also giving back to the community. We collaborate with local and national charities, as well as the HSA and Green Ridgewood.
UPCOMING EVENTS
This year, service projects will include an annual Halloween Costume and Book drive. We are also initiating a Trex recycling program and a school-wide reduced waste and plastics program. The Green Team helps plan and execute a weeklong Earth Day celebration.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Currently, Somerville has been honored with Bronze status from Sustainable Schools NJ.
In 2023/2024, we will continue to work towards the prestigious Silver status.
